From an early age, my passion for art blossomed brightly. Encouraged by my parents, I was granted the extraordinary privilege of transforming the walls of our living room in Santiago into my very own canvas—a freedom rarely witnessed elsewhere. Also, I always loved when my dad came back from a work trip to the United States and brought us huge buckets of crayons. I remember being fascinated by the many shades of colors and textures in that bucket. Some of the crayons even had glitter!!! This unique childhood experiences ignited a fervent fascination within me for the enchanting realm of colors and forms. Since then, my journey in the art world has always been an exhilarating yet relaxing hobby, full of boundless creativity and endless exploration. Since 2021, I started taking painting classes with painter Ion Sheremet in Cologne. With his enormous patience and help, I was able to learn impressionistic techniques, with which I have developed my way of painting. I am not a professional at all, I just enjoy painting and try to do it whenever I have free time at home in Germany.
Here are some of my works, which belong to people who are special to me and who are spread all over the world.

Name: «The majestic Perito Moreno Glacier»
Type: Oil painting on canvas
Size: 120×70 cm
Year: 2021
Owner: Ñancupil Troncoso Family
Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Background: This is the first painting I worked on at Ion’s studio. It is an impressionistic take on the Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina, which I visited with my family on an unforgettable trip to the Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia in 2016. This painting belongs to my parents.

Name: «Triberg Waterfalls in the Black Forest»
Type: Oil painting on canvas
Size: 50×70 cm
Year: 2021
Owner: Mirta Silva
Location: Santiago de Chile, Chile
Background: This is the second painting I worked on at Ion’s studio. I chose a picture that my husband and I took while we visited the Black Forest in Germany in 2020. It was the first trip we did after getting married and during the pandemic. My husband took a beautiful picture of the Triberg waterfalls, so I decided to put it onto a canvas. I gave this painting to my aunt Mirta as a Christmas present in 2021.

Name: «Berlin in Autumn»
Type: Oil painting on canvas
Size: 120×70 cm
Year: 2021
Owner: Sabine Mischke
Location: Cologne, Germany
Background: I went to Berlin for a Research Stay at the Iberoamerikanisches Institut in October 2021. My husband joined me for the weekend, and so we decided to walk around Berlin and visit some museums. This picture was taken near the Museum Insel in the heart of Berlin. It was late autumn, therefore, the leaves were still yellow and red everywhere you looked. In this painting, I tried a new technique that Ion taught me in order to make the painting more interesting. We let the solvent run through the paint, giving it the impression of a wet road. I gave this painting as a Christmas present to my dear friend Sabine Mischke.

Name: «Sunflower Pot»
Type: Oil painting on canvas
Size: 40×60 cm
Year: 2021
Owner: Eliana Lluch and Álvaro Cáceres
Location: Santiago de Chile, Chile
Background: I have always loved flowers and I have always wanted to paint a decent flower pot. I chose sunflowers because of the vibrant colors and the contrast they create with other colors. I particularly loved painting this one and was extremely happy with the result. This painting transmits a warm energy to anyone who stares at it. I gave this one as a Christmas present to my lovely hometown neighbors, Eliana Lluch and Álvaro Cáceres, who are part of my extended family.

Name: «Sunset by the ocean»
Type: Oil painting on canvas
Size: 120×70 cm
Year: 2021
Owner: Alba Silva
Location: Santiago de Chile, Chile
Background: This is the first sunset I have ever painted, and I loved the result. During the process, I learned how to work with the contrast between light and darkness and also to transmit the beauty of the sunset light caressing the ocean. This picture is unique in a way since I mainly used blue, purple, and orange to create it. The final yellowish flower touches were added to break with the dark, mountainous background. I gave this painting to my aunt Alba (Tia Moro) as a Christmas present in 2021.

Name: «Osorno»
Type: Oil painting on canvas
Size: 40×30 cm
Year: 2021
Owner: Rodney Routt
Location: Lexington, Kentucky, United States of America
Background: I especially painted this after a picture my husband and I took during a visit to the south of Chile in 2019 to give to my dear friend Rodney Routt. I met Rodney, his wife Jan, and his daughter Jamisen in the winter of 2011. They were part of a Mission’s Trip organized by the Immanuel Baptist Church of Kentucky, and they visited the Iglesia Bautista Parque Apoquindo in Santiago, where they organized a whole English Immersion Week for anyone who wanted to attend. I was invited to join it by a friend of the family, and I had a wonderful time. Not only did I get to practice my English, but I met wonderful and friendly people. Rodney and Jan have kept close contact with me and have constantly followed my musical career ever since. I painted this picture of Osorno as a “Thank You” gift for their support to Quartet Vela’s crowdfunding campaign in 2021, which helped us release our first professional CD. I chose a Chilean Landscape for them as an homage to where we first met.
